Rechargeable, Bluetooth and nearly invisible hearing aids
Most hearing aids today are receiver in canal or behind the ear styles, which sit behind your ear with a slim wire or tube. Custom in the ear styles sit in your ear, and the smallest in canal styles are close to invisible. Most people also want rechargeable batteries and Bluetooth streaming from their phone or TV.
Our hearing aid types guide compares every style. We also have guides on invisible hearing aids, rechargeable vs battery models and Bluetooth hearing aids.
Hearing aid fitting in Edmonton, step by step
- A hearing test first. Your hearing test shows what kind of hearing loss you have and which pitches need help.
- Choosing together. We talk about where you struggle, how you live and what you want to spend, then recommend a style and technology level.
- Fitting with real ear verification. We measure the sound right in your ear canal so your hearing aids are set to your hearing, not a factory default.
- Follow up visits. The first few adjustments are where hearing aids start to feel natural. After that we are here for fine tuning, cleaning and hearing aid repairs.
Here is what getting used to new hearing aids is really like.
