Who gets a free hearing test?
Adults 65 and over get a free hearing test at Medicine Place Hearing Care 97 North and East in Edmonton. If you are under 65, call either clinic for current pricing.
Is the free hearing test a full test or just a screening?
It is a full hearing test in a sound booth, about 30 to 45 minutes, with your results explained by a Registered Hearing Aid Practitioner or our registered audiologist.
Do I need a referral for the free hearing test?
No. You can book directly online or by phone. No doctor’s referral is needed.
Do I have to buy hearing aids after a free hearing test?
No. The test is yours to keep, with your results on file. There is no obligation and no pressure to buy.
What if my ears are blocked with wax?
Wax can throw off your results. We offer ear wax removal at both Edmonton clinics for $30 per ear, so a blockage does not have to send you somewhere else first.
Does AADL help with hearing aids after my test?
Albertans 65 and over with a documented hearing loss can get AADL funding toward hearing aids. Most clients pay a 25% cost share, up to $500 per person or family each benefit year, and low income Albertans can have it waived. We are a registered AADL vendor and do the paperwork.
